This sailboat motor is in great condition. It has not been used since 2019 when the sailboat (Tartan 27) was taken out of service. The motor was safely stored below out of the weather. Unfortunately the control panel was exposed to the elements. A new panel face is available on our store at reasonable cost

The tach, switch, stop button, and alarms all work but no time showing on the hour meter. But of course it has to have low hours because it was a sailboat and in Maine sailing season is only 3 months long. I have it set up in my shop so buyers can see it running. Sale includes new spare starter, Racor primary filter, mounts, wiring harness, control panel, throttle and shift controls. Motor has been overhauled - new head gasket, new oil pressure sensor, adjusted intake & exhaust clearances and inspected raw water impeller. Exhaust outlet internal threads are pitted. Exhaust hose is recommended as used in previous installation. Owner's manual and parts catalogue are available for free on the internet. Engine will be crated for shipping and all fluids will be drained.

This listing is for a complete VOLVO PENTA 5.7 ENGINE. We test ran the engine in the boat and it performed flawlessly. It had no trouble getting a 26' welcraft on plane. The boat it was pulled out of spent most of it's time in fresh water. We do not know the engine hours since there was no hour meter. We are offering this engine at a discount because at some point in it's life it was wired directly to the boat so there is no plug on it for the wiring harness. One can be re installed or a new engine harness would be the ideal repair. This engine does have what appears to be a scratch or hairline crack on one of the manifolds. The last photo is a close up, we never saw water come out of it during the sea trial nor is there any other signs of potential freeze damage.

The motor has strong and even compression on all cylinders. We always suggest giving all used parts a tune up or swap out wearable items before installing.

All freshened or rebuilt are built to order i will negotiate price at time of order all of my parts and motors will be custom listed for buyer on eBay. i have been buying / selling on eBay for over 20 years and have seen just about every way to cover up used junk by painting everything.... hoses wires etc. watch out for this. all of my motors are stripped down to the block (used, refreshed, rebuilt) thoroughly cleaned primed and painted where paint belongs and resealed. i also run all of my motors for 1 hr min before shipping all of my rebuilt parts are tested before I ship. my engine computers are also hooked up to my Volvo diagnostic computer and cleared of any dtc's. true hrs. read and reported to buyer. please ask questions before you buy a very expensive marine diesel motor.
