This sailboat motor is in great condition. It has not been used since 2019 when the sailboat (Tartan 27) was taken out of service. The motor was safely stored below out of the weather. Unfortunately the control panel was exposed to the elements. A new panel face is available on our store at reasonable cost
169 total hours on engine (see pic). Excellent condition. 6.0L. Engine runs excellent. Engine was pulled out of a 26 ft Cobalt boat 2 years ago. The owner wanted the boat to go faster and had a custom 500 HP engine built for him. I removed the 6.0 and installed the custom 8.1L big block for him. Originally I intended to use it in my own boat as a re-power but now my plans have changed. Just pulled it out of storage and got it ready to sell. Because it had sat for 2 years it needed a complete fuel module replacement. This is a common issue on all Volvos. The high pressure pump was no good and cannot be purchased separately. This module cost me $1400 from Volvo (list price is actually over $3000). I also had the injectors cleaned and tested as I didn’t want any issues for the new owner (that’s you!) The engine runs perfectly, verified 169 engine hours by Volvo Penta Diacom laptop diagnostic software. No trouble codes except for a warning buzzer output fault as there is no warning buzzer connected while the laptop is connected (see pic). This IS NOT A FLY BY WIRE ENGINE!! Uses a regular throttle cable for throttle control and would be a “drop in” for all Volvo & Mercruiser applications. It has a new impeller, new spark plugs, fresh oil & filter, new fuel filter, etc. Check with a Volvo dealer, a brand new complete engine to replace this engine is over $26,000. his engine was purchased in Florida to go into a 32 footer but the owner (my friend) has decided to go electric on the refit. It is believed to have approximately 400 hours of total time.
