BUILT IN PROTECTION.
Protect your boat and motor from damage that can occur from tilting the motor with the help of a user adjustable tilt limit switch. When adjusted properly, our Tilt Limit System prevents the outboard from tilting beyond a predetermined point.
A SMARTER WAY TO MANAGE FUEL.
Our Lean Burn intelligent fuel management system predicts fuel needs by monitoring engine performance and operating conditions to deliver a leaner fuel mixture to the engine. The result: remarkably improved fuel economy that the environment—and your wallet—will love.
FINISH STRONG.
To guard against corrosion, Suzuki protects its outboards with its own specially formulated Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish. Applied directly to the outboard’s aluminum alloy, this finish provides maximum bonding of the finish to the aluminum surface. Layering an epoxy primer undercoat, black metallic finish, and clear acrylic fiber finish on top of this forms an effective treatment against corrosion and protects your investment.
FLUSH AWAY STRESS.
Over time, salt, sand and dirt buildup can restrict flow in the cooling system and cause damage. That’s why we’ve equipped this outboard with two freshwater flush ports that make flushing the cooling system easier than ever. With one port located on the port side of the down housing and a second on the front panel, you’ll always have easy access to the flushing system whether the boat is in or out of the water.

The DF150AP model is no different. This powerful inline four cylinder four-stroke outboard is engineered with some of the most advanced technologies on the market providing boaters with greater performance, convenience, and efficiency.
The DF150AP outboard was launched during the 2016 Southampton International Boat Show and was modeled on the award winning DF200AP, which takes full advantage of the Suzuki Lean Burn Control System and Suzuki Precision Control — two advanced technologies derived from Suzuki’s flagship DF300AP and DF250AP outboards.
Suzuki's DF150APL2 incorporates the Drive by Wire Suzuki Precision Control System for easy, smooth and precise throttle and shift operation. The AP model also incorporates Suzuki Selective Rotation which enables the outboard to operate in either clockwise standard rotation or counter clockwise rotation. The DF150APL2 is based on an inline four cylinder DOHC powerhead with a 2,867cm³ (174.9 cu.in.) displacement. While the large displacement contributes greatly to producing exceptional acceleration and torque, it doesn't mean that they are comparatively larger and heavier in size. On the contrary, Suzuki's engineers have targeted this big block motor to be one of the most versatile four strokes in the 150hp class.

Fuel Efficient
With a combination of our Lean Burn technology, a semi-direct intake system and a high performance compression ratio of 10.2-to-1, these new outboards deliver clean, efficient power. Compared to the current 175 and 150, the DF175A is 14% more fuel efficient and the DF150A shows a 7% improvement for significant savings at the fuel dock.
Powerful
With more torque (3.1% more for the DF150A and 2.7% more for the DF175A), as well as Suzuki’s proven offset driveshaft layout with 2-stage gear reduction, these new outboards generate more power throughout the full rpm range. Even on heavier, fully loaded boats, the DF150A and 175A take performance to the next level.
Quick Acceleration
The DF150A and DF175A now share the same engine block used for our popular DF200A. More displacement and improved mechanical design combine for quicker acceleration, whether out of the hole or in mid-range. We’re satisfying our customers’ desire for performance and improved fuel economy.
Reliable
These new outboards take full advantage of Suzuki’s proven Ultimate 4-stroke technology to provide season after season of reliable performance. A knock sensor keeps the engine running smoothly for improved durability. An O2 sensor improves engine efficiency and Suzuki’s water detecting system helps protect the engine from the effects of bad gas, which include poor combustion, lower power output and corrosion.

Greater holeshot power delivery through a two-stage gear reduction at 2.50:1 is definitely noticeable with the Tournament 2000 Bluewater Gen2 hopping onto the plane effortlessly.
The Suzuki DF200ATX2 In-Line four-stroke outboard is packed with technology. This outboard has a large displacement, lots of torque and plenty of power. The DF200ATX2 is also a clean runner and certified with a 3-Star Ultra-Low Emission rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and has also met the EPA 2010 standard. So if you want to run with a proven winner, go four-stroke.
Engine noise
Standard Suzuki four-stroke outboard engines are so quiet that it’s not uncommon for boaters to try to start them while they’re running. I did find the Suzuki DF200A to have more of a crackle, especially when opening it up to wide open throttle. Regardless, it didn’t bother me as it’s more of a hum than a hindrance at standard cruise speeds of around 25kts.
Weight
Weighing around 30kg lighter than the V6 models, the Suzuki DF200ATX outboard motor is more compact on the transom and hence higher off the water. Lightening the transom can also prevent flooding into the well and enables more weight of other items to be shifted towards the transom in single and twin engine installations if suitable. For hulls with specified weight restrictions, this could be the answer to having increased horsepower, just with less weight.
Trolling
Backing off the throttles to usual troll speeds, again fuel consumption was low and impressive, with 4.75lt/h being sipped at 5.4kts and 1500rpm, or 7.1lt/h at 6.74kts at 2000rpm. For those pumping up the troll speeds to around 10 to 12kts you can expect a fuel burn of around 11 to 12lt/h.
The Trade-a-Boat verdict
Other key features found on the new Suzuki DF200A outboard motor include: counter rotation option, keyless start system (DF200AP), Suzuki Precision Control (electronic throttle and shift), and new multifunction digital gauges with colour screens.
The DF200A is the ideal outboard for those chasing optimum performance with less weight on the transom, as well as economy that keeps you away from the fuel bowser. Besides suiting many monohulls, the Suzuki DF200A outboard engine could be the answer for those who own catamarans and need a repower, or those potentially going to own one.

Semi-Direct Air Intake System
A specially designed cowl and semi-direct air intake system were designed to provide cooler air to the tuned long-track intake manifold while a four valve per cylinder DOHC powerhead with Variable Valve Timing lets the engine breathe more efficiently increasing acceleration and top end speed. Added to that are a fuel injection system and Suzuki's Lean Burn Technology for improved fuel economy.
Big Block—High Performance Engine
With the DF200A, our goal was to build an outboard that provides all of the power and performance of a 147kW (200PS) class V6 outboard using a lighter, more compact four-cylinder configuration. To deliver that level of performance our engineers used an inline four-cylinder engine with a 2.9-liter "Big-Block" displacement and a higher 10.2:1 compression ratio to generate impressive acceleration and low-end torque.
Suzuki Keyless Start System
A convenient keyless start system that also functions as an immobilizer to help deter theft is available*1 with the DF200AP.
